Saint Tabitha House was founded by Father Agapios Lipesa and his wife Papadia Dorah.

Father Agapios was assigned as the rector of Saint George the Great Martyr Parish in the Kibera Slums of Kenya. As part of his work as a parish priest he was constantly confronted by the abysmal conditions that the people of Kibera live in, at the same time he felt a strong love for the orphans who make up one of the most vulnerable populations within Kibera.

St. Tabitha House provides for all the needs of 26 orphaned children. These children are provided with food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, and religious upbringing.
