Saint Tabitha House is an Orthodox Christian orphanage located in Nairobi and Kisumu, Kenya serving 26 children.
Saint Tabitha House was founded by Father Agapios Lipesa and his wife Papadia Dorah.
Father Agapios is assigned as the rector of Saint George the Great Martyr Parish in the Kibera Slums of Kenya. As part of his work as a parish priest he was constantly confronted by the abysmal conditions that the people of Kibera live in, at the same time he felt a strong love for the orphans who make up one of the most vulnerable populations within Kibera.
St. Tabitha House provides for all the needs of 26 orphaned children. These children are provided with food, clothing, shelter, education, healthcare, and religious upbringing.
Presently, Father Agapios and Papadia Dorah are struggling to meet the ongoing basic needs of these children and are seeking to relocate the orphanage to a safer, more sustainable property outside of the Kibera Slum.
